Intelligent Automation, Inc. (IAI) announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Dr. Vikram Manikonda as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective April 1, 2014. Dr. Manikonda is currently the President of IAI and succeeds Dr. Joseph Schwartz who served as the Company's CEO since 1997.
Dr. Schwartz has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and will succeed Dr. Leonard Haynes, founder of IAI, who has been the Chairman since 1987.“The heart of IAI is its innovative research, which has resulted in many important advances for our customers, generally in very customer-specific applications. While research will remain the foundation of IAI’s work, the promotion of Dr. Manikonda to President and CEO of IAI will bring a new focus on products and technology transition, including commercial products”, said Dr. Leonard Haynes, Founder of IAI.
Dr. Manikonda says, "Today, IAI enjoys a strong foundation, staff with great technical depth, a passion to innovate, and a drive to develop new technologies and products to meet our customers’ needs. Our opportunities for growth have never been better and I am grateful to the Board for the privilege to lead IAI into a new era of growth and success. IAI will continue to thrive as a result of its agility and its ability to rapidly transition its innovative research into fielded solutions and commercial products. With the recent release of RFnest®, a radio frequency network channel emulation simulation tool, and ARGUS™ an unattended, radio frequency-based ground sensor for intrusion detection systems, IAI has already begun to add new products to its existing commercial product portfolio. Product releases in information assurance and cyber security, big-data and social media analytics, and modeling and simulation are planned for early 2015.”
Dr. Manikonda received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1997 and joined IAI in 1999. He was named Director of IAI’s Distributed Intelligent Systems group in 2001, became a Vice President in 2004, and was appointed as IAI’s President in 2008. As President, Dr. Manikonda demonstrated a track record of delivering revenue growth, leading and managing IAI's innovative research and development, and transitioning IAI’s research into products in a wide range of applications of interest to government and industry.
