IAI to develop a Next-Gen Security Module on the Quick Emulator for the Air Force

Trusted Platform Module (TPM) chips provide trustworthy and tamper-resistant security for software and operating systems. Virtualization technologies seamlessly transition applications running on local computers with the Internet. Virtualized TPM chips, or vTPM, are needed so that virtualization technologies can securely execute applications hosted on the cloud. IAI will develop an Emulated Security Module (ESM) for the Quick Emulator (QEMU) that will be compatible with the existing TPM standard and available TPM software. Based on its flexible architecture and implementation, ESM will also provide additional cryptography operations for its guest OS and QEMU applications. In addition, the security of ESM itself will be verified and enhanced through an advanced compiler and other software testing technologies.
