IAI to Exhibit RFnest, the Radio Frequency channel Network Emulation/Simulation Toolkit at MILCOM 2016 in Baltimore, MD

Intelligent Automation, Incorporated (IAI), will exhibit The Radio Frequency Network channel Emulator/Simulator Tool, or RFnest™, at the Military Communications Conference (MILCOM), November 1-3, 2016, at the Baltimore Convention Center, booth #4029. The RFnest™ family of products facilitates the testing of new radio technologies in laboratory settings. IAI’s RFnest™ is the first scalable full mesh channel emulator in the market today, that will allow for up to 96 physical radios to be connected and supports the creation of virtual (simulated) radio/network nodes where the simulated radios communicate seamlessly with the real nodes.

RFnest™ allows radios to be tested and evaluated in MIMO, SISO, SIMO, MISO or mesh configurations, across a broad Radio Frequency (RF) spectrum. By configuring various channel models that mimic real-life environments such as rural areas and urban canyons, users can create large test scenarios that recreate the communication characteristics experienced by operations involving dismounted soldiers, vehicle convoys, unmanned aerial vehicles, and airborne networks.

RFnest’s support of real and virtual (simulated) radio/network nodes allows for large testing scenarios that involve hundreds of networked nodes with all nodes experiencing realistic channel pulse response. The integrated RFview™ data display and visualization tools provide the user with a reliable and repeatable assessment of th¬e communications protocols and network performance. RFview™ interfaces with third party channel modeling tools for specific channels of interest, as well as network emulation software including the Extendable Mobile Ad-hoc Network Emulator (EMANE) and the Common Open Research Emulator (CORE).

RFnest’s family of products are designed to address the specific needs of each customer. This family includes theRFnest™ Analog and the RFnest™ Digital series, both powered by RFview™ software. The RFnest™ Analog series is an affordable network channel emulation tool with the capability to emulate mesh frequencies with fading channels, and is available immediately. The RFnest™ Digital series is a modular system that can be purchased in 8, 12, 24, 48 or 96 node configurations and offers advanced solutions for emulation of frequency selective channels in a highly dynamic environment.
