Senior Director, Signal Processing and Control
Mr. Xu is IAI’s Vice President of Research and Development and Sr. Director of the Signal Processing and Control group. He joined IAI in 1994, and has since been actively involved in the areas machine learning, structural health monitoring, image and speech processing, and big data analysis. He has directed many research projects in above subject areas. He led IAI’s research in Fuzzy CMAC, diagnostics and prognostics, neural networks, sensor networks, and chem-bio systems. Mr. Xu is also IAI’s in-house subject matter expert and lead designer for the various control systems developed by IAI for its commercial and government clients. These include systems such a 6-DOF tool tip for milling machines, and at-sea cargo transfer ramp. Mr. Xu is currently focused on building IAI’s programs in transportation, big data and in the applications of signal processing to health technologies. Prior to being appointed as Vice President, Mr. XU held several leadership roles at IAI including, principal scientist and director.
Mr. Roger Xu obtained his M.S. Degree in 1988 from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China and his B.S. Degree in 1982 from Jiangsu University both in Electrical Engineering. He was also a visiting Scholar at the University of Nurburg-Erlangen University, Germany from 1993 to 1994.
