I
AI is actively involved in the development of a wide spectrum of networking technologies including systematic cross-layer design for infrastructure less networks, efficient network services for dynamic wireless networks, and seamless and transparent radio and network management with wireless heterogeneity. Working closely with DOD Army CECOM and PEO STRI, IAI has developed innovative networking technologies for Army's One Tactical Engagement Simulation System (OneTESS). To support specific QoS and priority of connections for mobile ad-hoc networks, IAI has developed an innovative hybrid routing protocol called Mobile Agent Routing (MAR), which has been tested on military vehicles using real radios. To deliver both scalability and high-fidelity for wireless network evaluation, IAI has developed a composable cross-layer network simulator (CCNS) which can run large scale simulation using distributed computing technologies, and can incorporate realistic physical layer information into the evaluation process. Our recent research effort has focused significantly on developing innovative technologies to deliver solutions with the vision of “network as the service”. Examples include projects on Airborne Networks, and providing transparent handoff solutions for infrastructure less networks,
In the area of cyber security our research focuses on developing innovative cyber situational awareness and security analysis tools, better security technologies using cryptographic methods, enhanced intrusion detection systems, and wireless security technologies for infrastructure less networks.
