Picture Ewok Village. Now imagine a group of researchers, engineers, and their kids swinging through the treetop village as the sun sets on a summer evening — this was the sight last Friday night as we took on the Sandy Spring Adventure Park. This zip line and ropes course is the world’s largest man-made outdoor climbing park. We were able to choose our own level of challenge, with several different treetop trails to explore. As we climbed and swung through the Aerial Forest, some of us moved boldly through the courses. For those of us who were hesitant, it was a thrill to make it through with the encouragement of our group. When the sun set, we finished our evening by swooping through glowing branches, as the LED lighting strung throughout the forest created a magical backdrop for our adventure.
