IAI has been proud to sponsor the Montgomery Blair High School robotics team since 2011, providing mentorship and financial contributions to help the team design and fabricate competition-ready robots. This year, the Blair team’s robot, “Legasus,” along with their alliance members, won the Chesapeake District Bethesda MD Event for the first time since 2004. The team earned enough district points to qualify for the FIRST Chesapeake District Championships. In addition, the Blair team also received the competition’s Entrepreneurship Award, which acknowledged the planning and organization of the business sub-team. If they continue to perform well in competitions, there is a good chance that Blair will qualify for the FRC World Championships in Detroit, MI. For more information, see the team’s website at http://robot.mbhs.edu/ or the FIRST website at http://www.usfirst.org.
