IAI employees and families soar through the spring enjoying a variety of indoor and outdoor activities. The spring started with a celebration of Nowruz with our annual luncheon, followed by a chance to “fly” through the air, with a trip to Montgomery County’s new iFLY facility. Over 30 employees and family members took to the air in this wild adventure that even included Virtual Reality sky diving! As the weather improved, we headed outdoors for our adventures, enjoying the local fruits and farm activities with a family friendly strawberry picking day at Butler’s Orchard. We also had our first annual DC Smithsonian Selfie Scavenger Hunt, where teams raced through four different Smithsonian museums attempting to find all of the items on their scavenger hunt list.
The outdoor DC fun continued as several employees and families gathered at the Joint Base Andrews Air Show to see all the cool aircraft and witness some amazing flying acrobatics. And what is a spring without getting out to celebrate? IAI employees gathered after our annual all-hands meeting for a festive happy hour. Later in the spring we continued our tradition of Friday afternoon outdoor happy hours (complete with hotdogs, snacks, drinks, and sand volleyball!)
