While normally enjoying working on high tech stuff, IAI also geeked out at this year’s Maryland Renaissance Festival, where the staff left behind their FPGAs and VR systems to have a blast with ye olde weapons, arts, and food. The team and their families were able to immerse themselves in an authentic 16th century setting with entertainment that included Shakespeare’s most popular plays, The Wheel of Death, a full-fledged jousting troupe, knife throwing, sword fighting, and musical performers. Among the many artisans and merchants were glassblowers, wood sculptors, pottery makers, and much more. Every year offers a new story line keeping Renn Fest an annual favorite IAI family tradition.
