IAI Awarded NCI Contract to Develop Mobile App for Patients to Report Adverse Effects of Radiation Therapy

ROCKVILLE, Md. — Dec. 17, 2019 — Intelligent Automation, Incorporated (IAI), a technology innovation company, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to create a mobile app to collect and archive patient reported data for radiation therapy.

In this contract, IAI will develop an app that enables patients to provide early reporting of health indicators to physicians in accordance with Patient Reported Outcomes Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (PRO-CTCAE). The app will interface with hospital-managed patient databases, allowing clinicians to leverage patient report symptoms to provide timely, appropriate treatments and better design future patient-centric clinical trials. The app will be made available for patient use at radiation oncology academic research centers and radiation oncology clinics around the world.

IAI’s digital healthcare team creates mobile apps and sensors to gather data from patients outside of the clinical setting. Healthcare providers can improve patient outcomes by monitoring patient performance, improving adherence, and providing timely interventions throughout a patient’s healthcare regimen.

“IAI is proud to have been selected by NCI to support its efforts in improving cancer patient care through mobile apps,” said Vikram Manikonda, President and CEO of IAI.
