ROCKVILLE, Md. — Jan. 8, 2020 — Intelligent Automation, Incorporated (IAI), a technology innovation company, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Defense Microelectornics Activity (DMEA) to create new artificial intelligence (AI) methods to determine the authenticity of electronic components in weapon systems.
In this contract, IAI will investigate the feasibility of using machine learning and machine vision technologies as part of a detection or authentication scheme. The potential areas that these technologies can address include validating golden units, classifying side channel signatures of microelectronics, automating general counterfeit detection, and creating signatures for individual microelectronics. This technology will reduce the time and effort required to screen components while providing stronger anti-counterfeit measures.
IAI is a leader in research and development for optical systems, machine vision, autonomy, human-machine interfaces, and robotic inspection. IAI develops AI/ML-based products and customized solutions to address government and industry needs in application areas such as real-time image stabilization, target detection and tracking, supervised semi-autonomy, and intuitive remote operation of robotic systems.
“IAI is proud to have been selected by DMEA to explore the use of artificial intelligence and computer vision to detect counterfeit components and improve the supply chain security,” said Vikram Manikonda, President and CEO of IAI.
