IAI Awarded DTRA Contract To Develop An Object Detection Framework To Identify Life Science Laboratory Equipment

ROCKVILLE, Md.—December 30, 2019—Intelligent Automation Incorporated (IAI), a technology innovation company, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency to enable military scientists to identify new and partially occluded laboratory equipment in challenging environments.

In this contract, IAI will incorporate an automatic knowledge graph into a modified COTS object detection framework to improve identification of life science laboratory equipment that current detection algorithms are unable to recognize. The solution will identify, collect, label, and demonstrate relationships for 100 items, and provide metrics to measure detection performance.

“IAI is proud to have been selected by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency to develop innovative technologies to identify laboratory equipment”, said Vikram Manikonda, President and CEO of IAI.

IAI is a leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies including text, video, and sensor data analytics.
