IAI Awarded U.S. Army Contract to Develop a Radio Network Sniffer and Baseband Signal Analysis Tool

ROCKVILLE, Md.—May 26, 2020Intelligent Automation, Incorporated (IAI), a technology innovation company, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Army to develop a radio network sniffer and baseband signal analysis tool to detect any system vulnerability in early stages of adoption and reduce technology development costs.

In this contract, IAI will design and develop a tool that provides Radio Frequency (RF) digital channel emulation, captures I/Q samples in real time, and analyzes baseband signals across all radios in a network to evaluate performance. The tool will provide metrics for network connectivity, bandwidth efficiency, reaction times to changes, performance in intermittent conditions, scalability, susceptibility to interception and detection, and more.

“IAI recognizes the need to improve channel emulation and is proud to support the U.S. Army’s efforts in this area,” said Vikram Manikonda, President and CEO of IAI.

IAI specializes in developing advanced sensor systems for military, transportation, and medical applications including RF-based location and tracking systems. In developing this technology, IAI leverages its extensive experience and intellectual property in FPGA-based, high-performance, software-defined radios, and prior IFF transponder research to enable rapid prototyping and validation of the design.
