IAI Awarded a U.S. Navy Contract to Develop a Rapid, Rugged, Cable Assessment Tool

ROCKVILLE, Md.—October 6, 2020Intelligent Automation, Incorporated (IAI), a technology innovation company, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy to develop an automated inspection system for reliable cross-deck pendant (CDP) cable assessment on aircraft carrier flight decks.

In this contract, IAI will develop a simple, compact, but sophisticated “GO / NO-GO” inspection indicator device for maintenance technicians that will help increase the accuracy and reliability of CDP inspections and cable health. The resulting device will meet the performance requirements for environmental ruggedness (MIL-STD-810).

“IAI recognizes the need to improve aircraft carrier maintenance efficiency and is proud to support the U.S. Navy’s efforts in this area,” said Vikram Manikonda, President and CEO of IAI.

IAI’s big data processing, mathematical, and statistical analytical approaches are used to evaluate aviation safety and evaluate the performance of aeronautical systems. IAI creates systems to assess the design and performance of propulsion, guidance, and control systems. IAI’s analytical tools provide verification and validation of novel designs where traditional analytical methods cannot be used. IAI uses statistical and mathematical methods to merge historical data sets to allow researchers to get more use out of existing experimental data.
