IAI Awarded U.S. Air Force Contract to Develop Robust Resource Allocation in Airborne Networks

ROCKVILLE, Md.—March 5, 2021Intelligent Automation, Incorporated (IAI), a technology innovation company, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Air Force to develop state-of-the-art resource utilization algorithms for use in airborne networks.

In this contract, IAI will develop novel weapons capabilities in support of the Air Force’s priorities
of reach, affordable mass, autonomous collaboration, sensing and communications, non-kinetic effects, and digital engineering. IAI will leverage its expertise in radar and communications to develop robust, reliable and scalable distributed deep reinforcement learning (RL)-based power control and dynamic channel access policies for airborne networks (such as UAV networks).

“IAI recognizes the importance of dynamic resource allocation in airborne networks and is proud to support the U.S. Air Force’s efforts in this area,” said Vikram Manikonda, President and CEO of IAI.”

IAI is a leader in the research and development of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies, including text, video, and sensor data analytics. IAI develops AI/ML-based products and customized solutions to address government and industry needs in application areas such as full motion video analytics, prognostics and diagnostics, and natural language processing. IAI deploys software and hardware technologies to support hardware-in-the-loop testing, and spectrum planning. IAI’s channel simulations emulate terrain, distance, motion, and interference for connected radio systems. These technologies enable simulation of radar returns and the injection of signal degradation from electronic warfare equipment. These tools are used to gain better understanding of how their radio systems will respond to complex RF environments and contested spectrum.
