ROCKVILLE, Md.—March 17, 2021—Intelligent Automation, Incorporated (IAI), a technology innovation company, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to develop a system that provides stay-time and health hazard decision-making support to individuals in unknown or varying radiation fields.
In this contract, IAI will develop a system that incorporates real-time radiation sensor data with user input to rapidly run calculations and compare these parameters against a set of safety guidelines. The system will then display a stay time in the current area, as well as any applicable health warnings based on the accumulated radiation dose. This solution will help radiological first responders and critical personnel keep their radiation exposure within acceptable limits.
“IAI is proud to have been selected by the DTRA to support its research related to radar, communications, and sensors,” said Vikram Manikonda, President and CEO of IAI.
IAI uses data fusion, sophisticated analysis techniques, and visualizations to help users understand complex environments and systems. IAI’s immersive interfaces help users better understand available information to improve situational awareness and make more informed decisions. IAI’s researchers can model and predict the behavior of a wide range of systems including transportation networks, aeronautical components, radio networks, and radar systems.
