IAI Awarded U.S. Army Contract to Develop an Open-Architecture Radio

ROCKVILLE, Md.—June 9, 2021—Intelligent Automation, Incorporated (IAI), a technology innovation company, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Army to develop a common data link (CDL) radio transceiver.

In this contract, IAI will develop a C4ISR/EW Modular Open Suite of Standards‐based CDL radio transceiver that will increase the modularity and maintainability/usability in the ground stations, as well as reduce the driving requirements in size, weight, and power.

“IAI is proud to have been selected by the U.S. Army to develop the next generation of radio transceivers,” said Vikram Manikonda, President and CEO of IAI.

IAI specializes in developing advanced sensor systems for military, transportation, and medical applications including RF-based location and tracking systems. In developing this technology, IAI will leverage its extensive experience and intellectual property in FPGA-based, high-performance, software-defined radios and prior identification friend or foe (IFF) transponder research to enable rapid prototyping and validation of the design.
